Two years since the revolution

But sometimes, it happens; I need to put into intelligible words the confusing thoughts that crowd my mind. And today it’s a special day, a special anniversary. Today is my son’s birthday. Two years.

Beauty and impermanence

Well, I am already late for this, but hanami season is upon us, and I think that, while a lot of people are aware of the beauty of these cherry blossoms, it’s harder to fully understand the emotions behind the affection and devotion that Japanese seem to show toward sakura.

I will try to dig a little bit more, trying to shed some light on the link between beauty and impermanence while remembering a beautiful hanami I witnessed, 5 years ago, in the deep of the night.

Celebrating the New Year in Japan

Hi everyone, it’s been a little while since the last we spoke, but my new project (the Japanese bookstore), is taking my whole time, and I still need to get used to it! So, I was willing to write a brief post about new year in Japan, and how I celebrated it when I was there a few years ago BUT the end of 2017 came and the 2018 arrived and I couldn’t find the time to write… so here I am today, with the excuse that well, we can also consider the chinese year and in this case I am perfectly on time!
